Funeral services for Mrs. Zettie Mae Travis, age 80, of Beckville, TX, will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 27, 2011, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Phillips and Bro. Danny Dodson officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Rusk County, TX. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Travis passed away on Saturday morning, June 25, 2011, in Longview, TX.

Zettie Mae Travis was born on Nov. 3, 1930, in the Lindsay, OK area to Tommie and Era Bell Childress Smith. She attended school in Mauriceville, TX. Mrs. Travis married Alex Joe "Jay" Travis on Sept. 1, 1945, in Center, TX. She worked as a seamstress for many years and later for Lockheed Martin. Mrs. Travis moved to Beckville in 1977, from Savoy, TX and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Beckville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Tommie Joe "Jody" Travis; one brother, Lewis Smith; and three sisters, Tommie Bell Bryce, Berline Keating, and Edie Yarborough.

Mrs. Travis is survived by her loving husband of over 65 years, Alex Joe "Jay" Travis of Beckville; two daughters, Brenda Johns of Beckville and Debbie Dodson and husband Danny of Center; grandchildren, Kevin Johns and wife Cherrie of Beckville, Ricky Johns and wife Shona of Beckville, Randy Johns and wife Angel of Beckville, Angie Stone and husband Scott of Beckville, Craig Travis and wife Kappy of Beckville, Jason Travis and wife Casey of Beckville, Raymond Dodson and wife Kim of Dallas, and Misty Dodson of Arlington; great-grandchildren, Brittany Mojica and husband Fidel of Beckville, Samantha, Sydney, Parker, and Savanah Johns of Beckville, Gunner Smith and Sawyer Johns of Harleton, Alyssa Garcia and husband Adrian of Henderson, Dustin Travis of Kilgore, Kaleb Travis of Beckville, Leah and Sienna Stone of Beckville, Chelsea, Ben, AJ, and Tucker Travis of Beckville, and Nicholas and Brandon Dodson of Center; great-great-grandchildren, Jordan and Jayden Mojica of Beckville and Addison Marie and Alivia Mae Garcia of Henderson; daughter-in-law, Janis Travis Morris; son-in-law, Glenn Johns; and her special adopted granddaughter, Mary Moore of Center.

Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Johns, Ricky Johns, Randy Johns, Craig Travis, Jason Travis, and Raymond Dodson.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Glenn Johns, Scott Stone, Woody Keating, and Dago Yarborough.
