Graveside services for Mrs. Zelma "Toby" Novak, age 87, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at Restland Memorial Park near Carthage with Father Michael Adams officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. followed by a rosary service at 7 p.m. at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Novak passed away on Tuesday night, Dec. 27, 2011, in Longview.

Zelma Clarice "Toby" Minter Novak was born on Oct. 1, 1924, in Gary, TX to Wayman G. and Mollie Pierce Minter. She graduated from Gary High School with the class of 1942. Mrs. Novak married Alvin Joe Novak on Dec. 1, 1944, in Shreveport, LA and he preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 2011. She was the queen of garage sales, was an avid homemaker, and was a wonderful cook. Mrs. Novak moved to Carthage in 1953, from Gary, TX and was a member of the St. William of Vercelli Catholic Church in Carthage. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and one brother.

Mrs. Novak is survived two sons, Stanley Novak and Don Novak and wife Kathy all of Longview; three grandchildren, Kerry Davis and husband Michael, Chris Novak and wife Salem, and Nicholas Novak; six great-grandchildren, Calli, William, Zoe, Phoenix, Corbin, and Alexis; one great-grandchild on the way; and a dear friend, Delmer Holder.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Stanley Novak, Don Novak, Chris Novak, Nicholas Novak, Michael Davis, William Davis, Corbin Novak, Phoenix Davis, and Delmer Holder.
