Funeral services for Mrs. Winnie Mae Farmer Carter, age 89, of Longview, TX formerly of Shreveport, LA, will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Wiles officiating. Interment will follow in Panola Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until service time on Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Carter passed away on Friday night, Nov. 5, 2010, in Longview.

Winnie Mae Farmer Carter was born on June 1, 1921, in Panola County, TX, to John and Lettie Harrison Farmer. She married Loyal P. Carter and he preceded her in death on May 21, 1999. She was an excellent seamstress. Mrs. Carter moved to Longview in 2003, from Shreveport.

Mrs. Carter is survived by her son, L. Wayne Carter and wife Christine of Lake Charles; one brother, Raymond Farmer of Deadwood; two sisters, Elsie Baker of Deadwood and Marie Baker of Carthage; three grandchildren, Christy Hurst of Longview, Sherry Benson of Longview, and Julie Williams of Tyler; five great-grandchildren, Rachel, Will, Luke, Blaine, and Sean Michael.

Serving as pallbearers are AB Hurst, Curtis Benson, Bobby Williams, Billy Powell, Weldon Baker and Charles Butler.
