Willie Pearl Westmoreland, 73, of Beckville, TX, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, in Carthage, TX. She was born on Oct. 20, 1946, in Beckville to the late Kennis and Luvina Jefferson Westmoreland. She graduated from Sunset High School in Beckville with the class of 1964. Willie earned her bachelors and masters degrees in Early Childhood Development at El Centro College in Dallas. Mrs. Westmoreland worked in the Head Start Program in the Dallas area until her retirement. She moved back to Beckville in 1979, and was a member of the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Duronda Westmoreland; and siblings, Joe Thomas Westmoreland, Theo Westmoreland, and Lou Crealy Phillips.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Cynthia Westmoreland of Carthage, Ozell Holland (Youlondia) of DeBerry, Alynthia Holland (Gary Glenn) of DeBerry, Zanobia Westmoreland of Carthage; Xavier Holland (Shawna) of Lewisville, and Aliclato Westmoreland of Beckville; siblings, Cora Crawford of Palm Springs, Edna Simpson (Vernon) of Carthage, Lou Calvin Westmoreland of Beckville, Annie Bell Mumphrey (Nathan) of Beckville, and JoNell Westmoreland of Dallas; 13 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glen Hood officiating. Interment will follow in Holland's Quarter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Ozell Holland, Jr., Aliclato Westmoreland, Xavier Holland, Tristan Durden, Earington Mumphrey, Ronathon Mumphrey, Tyan Simpson and Gary Glenn.

Honorary pallbearers are Jeremiah Jones, Traveon Jones, Zavoric Glenn, JaVahn Durden, Tyree Patton, Isacc LoPez, Malacai LoPez, Adias Westmoreland and Jeremaine King.
