A funeral service for Mr. Willie James "Shorty" Metcalf, 78, of Beckville, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chad Fleming and Bro. L.F. Long officiating. Interment will follow in Langley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Metcalf passed away on Tuesday morning, January 6, 2015, at his home in Beckville.

Willie James "Shorty" Metcalf was born on July 14, 1936, in Beckville, TX, to the late Silas Jasper and Nancy Rebecca Dailey Metcalf. Mr. Metcalf worked as a carpenter until his retirement. He had lived his lifetime in Beckville and was of the Pentecostal faith. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Nennie Ruth Metcalf who passed away in 1995 and his brother, Charles Metcalf.

Mr. Metcalf is survived by his wife of 18 years, Carolyn Metcalf of Beckville; one son, Steve Metcalf of Beckville; one daughter, Anna Faulk and husband Richard of Chalk Hill; one sister, Rosa Parks of Gary; step-children, Floyd Busby and wife Shannon of Elysian Fields, Tina George and husband Ronnie of Marshall, and Tonji Thomas and husband Carl of Elysian Fields; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are Randy Faulk, Ryan George, Jonathan Faulk, James "Harry" Atkinson, James Faulk, and Steve Faulk.
