Funeral services for Mr. Willie D. Odom, age 74 of Tenaha, Texas will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Pleasant Hill C.M.E. Church in the Woods Community with Reverend W.G. Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. on Friday at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Odom passed away on Tuesday afternoon, January 29, 2008 in Longview.

Willie D. Odom was born on May 23, 1933 in the Woods Community of Panola County, Texas to Martin and Evie Thomas Odom. He married Martha Jones on October 13, 1951. He worked at Marathon Letourneau for 35 years until his retirement. Mr. Odom loved hunting. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of Pleasant Hill C.M.E. Church in the Woods Community. Mr. Odom was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Martha Jones Odom who passed away on May 1, 1993; two brothers, Jimmy Thomas and Artis Odom; three sisters, Shirley Odom, Effie Foster, and Dorothy Jean Odom; and one son, Johnny Lee Odom.

Mr. Odom is survived by six sons, Travis Lee Odom and wife Linda of Tenaha, Jimmy Ray Odom of Tenaha, Bruce Haywood Odom and wife Sandrew of Carthage, Ronnie Brook Odom of Austin, Zack Odom and wife Vickie of Nacogdoches, and Andre Ledbetter and wife Beulah of Arlington; five daughters, Peggy Brown and husband Dale of Timpson, Virginia Brown of Houston, Helen D. Calhoun of Tenaha, Bobbie Jean Smith of Tenaha, and Bonnie Faye Odom of Carthage; one brother Leatrice Odom and wife Lorene of Carthage; and one sister, Cora Lee Hines of Orange. Mr. Odom is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
