Mr. Willie Doyle Kiker was born on July 22, 1938, in Grandview, TX to Lewis Andrew and Zeta Roberts Kiker. He passed away on Monday morning, June 18, 2012, in Carthage, TX. Mr. Kiker graduated from Grandview High School in Grandview, TX with the class of 1955. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army where he served his country for over 20 years, attaining the rank of Sgt. 1st Class before his retirement. After retirement, Mr. Kiker attended Temple Jr. College. He married Nellie Grace Hampshire on Jan. 15, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Mr. Kiker enjoyed mechanic work, wood work, and building models. He moved to Carthage in 2011, from Bennettsville, SC and was a member of the St. John's Episcopal Church in Carthage. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Helen Works and Loyce Ann Kirkwood; and one brother, Otis Paul Kiker.


Mr. Kiker is survived by his wife, Nellie of Carthage; two sons, Alan Kiker and wife Margie of Carthage and Shawn Kiker of Clarksville, TN; five sisters, Virginia Snyder and husband Jerry of Ft. Worth, Kathryn Griffen and husband Ken of Atlanta, TX, Sue Mitchell and husband Bradley of Ft. Worth; Molly Milner and husband Frank of Crowley, and Mary Burch and husband John of Crowley; six grandchildren, Amy Kiker, Ashley Miller and husband Jimmy, Corri Kiker, Jessalynn Kiker, Rhiannon Kiker, and Michayla Kiker. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Kiker.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at St. John's Episcopal Church in Carthage.
Cremation arrangements for Mr. Kiker are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
