Willie Joe Greer, 78, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Saturday night, December 19, 2020, in Carthage. He was born on January 25, 1942, in Alexandria, Louisiana to the late Finis and Lavell Walton Greer. Willie Joe graduated from Carthage High School. He moved to California and worked for the Palm Springs Airport for over 30 years. He married Mary Ann Pierson Greer on June 13, 1986, in Palm Springs and she preceded him in death on September 27, 2013. Mr. Greer moved back to Carthage and worked as a fork lift operator for Genpak until his retirement. Willie Joe was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; siblings, Calvin Greer and Mary Endsley; and mother of his children, Bobbie Greer.

He is survived by his daughters, Sherrie, Shaneal and Shella Greer; siblings, Connie, Cleophus, Gladys, Jimmy, and Janet Greer; grandchildren, Alexandria Jackson, Ashton Jackson, Sean Butler, Candace Butler, and Tiffany Wright; Mary's children, Brian, Wendy, and Don; and Mary's grandchildren, Amber, Andrew, Austin, Ashlee, Devon, Deon, Isaiah and Brexton.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2020, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kirthell Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery near Carthage. A viewing will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
