William Virgil Tillery, III, MD, 73, of Augusta, GA, beloved husband of Julie Bahr Tillery, entered into rest on Wednesday evening, January 27, 2016, at his home. Dr. Tillery was born on July 22, 1942, in Carthage, Texas to the late William Virgil Tillery, Jr. and Margaret Elizabeth Houston Tillery. He was a die-hard Texas Longhorns fan. He was a long-time Ophthalmologist in the Augusta area with Southern Eye Center. Dr. Tillery was a member of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church and served as the president and leader of many civic organizations in Augusta.

In addition to his wife, Dr. Tillery is survived by his sons, William Virgil Tillery, IV and wife Lisa, and Robert Carl Tillery and wife Megan; his daughter, Meredith Tillery McNamara and husband Martin; and by his grandchildren, Arabella Margaret Tillery, Kendall Carly Tillery, Martin Patrick McNamara, Margaret Anne McNamara, and the soon to be born William Virgil Tillery, V.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church with Dr. Matthew Rich officiating. The family will receive friends following the services in the Reid Memorial fellowship hall.
