William Boyd "Bill" Marshall, age 79, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Monday night, March 10, 2025, in Carthage. He was born on November 25, 1945, in Houston, Texas. His parents were the the late James Augustus and Mary Elizabeth Moore Marshall. Bill graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1964, and later attended Stephen F. Austin State University and Panola College. He served United States Marine Corps a total of 6 years part of which was in Vietnam for 13 months attaining the rank of Sergeant before being honorably discharged. Bill lived most of his lifetime in Carthage where he worked for many years as a high school teacher. He enjoyed Harley's and fast cars, loved animals, and especially enjoyed attending any sports related activities for his grandsons.

Mr. Marshall is survived by his sons, Jason and James Ryan; grandsons, Thomas and Seth Ryan; brother, Jimmy Marshall and wife Mary; niece, Lauren Rome and husband Bryan; nephew, Adam Marshall; great-niece, Jacquelyn; and great-nephew, Ethan.

A funeral service with Military Honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Still Waters Cowboy Church with Kyle Keeling officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
