Funeral services for Mr. William Wallace Craig, age 88, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Jackson officiating. Mr. Craig passed away on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 29, 2012, in Carthage.
William Wallace Craig was born on April 24, 1924, in Panola County, TX to William Grover and Loula May Blair Craig. He graduated from Marshall High School with the class of 1943. Mr. Craig married Artimeaci Davidson on Oct. 5, 1946, in Marshall. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was honorably discharged. Mr. Craig worked as a service supervisor for Southwestern Bell until his retirement. He lived his lifetime in Panola County and was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church in Carthage where he served on the Building Committee for many years. Mr. Craig was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Jason Skolnick; three brothers, Claude, Edward, and Bobby Craig; and two sisters, Louise Holtzclaw and Betty Presson.
Mr. Craig is survived by his wife, Artimeaci D. Craig; one son, Ricky Craig and wife Trudy of Carthage; one daughter, Margie Ann Jentes of Longview; one sister, Georgie Conode of Houma, LA; and one grandson, Cody Craig of Carthage.
