Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. William Jordan "Billy" Baker, age 33 of Carthage, Texas, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Carthage with Rev. Paul Thomasson and Pastor Leah Hanks officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Oddfellows Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Baker passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at his home in Carthage.

William Jordan "Billy" Baker was born on June 5, 1975, the last of four children born to the marriage of Robert Earl "Bob" Baker and Sarah Elizabeth Jordan Baker. He graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1993 and played in the Class 4-A State Finals on the 1991 Varsity Bulldog Football team. He attended Panola College and graduated with an Associate's degree in 1995. Billy attended Stephen F. Austin State University graduating in 1997 with a BBA in Marketing. While at S.F.A., Billy was a member of the ATO fraternity. He was employed as a Sales Executive at P.D.I. Healthcare. Billy was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Carthage where he participated in the Men's Bible Study.

Billy is survived by his parents, Bob and Sarah Baker of Carthage; two daughters, Kate and Karys Baker and their mother, Heather Martin Baker all of Rockwall; one brother, Bobby Scott Baker and wife Kelly of Fort Worth; two sisters, Beth Gound and husband Jason of Nacogdoches and Brooke Curran and husband Chris of Houston; four nieces, Sloane Baker, Jordan Gound, Carly Curran, and Allie Curran; and one nephew, Cole Baker. A host of other relatives and many friends also survive Billy.

Serving as pallbearers are Tate Barber, Kip Harkrider, Timmy Harkrider, Joey Blissett, Brett Biggs, Scott Goodson, Michael McNatt and Cole Baker.
