Obituary

William Neal Edgmon (Bill) was born January 29, 1936, as the eldest son of Edgar and Molly Edgmon in the hills of Guntersville, Alabama. Of true pioneer spirit, his family traveled to the desert of Southern California where he met and married the woman of his dreams, Dorothy Redden on August 3, 1952.

Bill lived his life to the fullest. He knew no enemies. His charm, love of life and strength of character endeared him to everyone he met. His devotion and dedication to his family was unwavering. As the oldest son of seven children, he had, and demonstrated a deep love for his brothers and sisters. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Bill's happiest times were when surrounded by his family and friends. His sense of humor and loving attitude made him the center of any get together. His true anchor was his wife and best friend, Dorothy. His love for her was greater than life itself and together they grew, struggled and succeeded. They created a loving home for their children and the friends of their children. He demanded that his children create a good life for themselves. He inspired them to believe in themselves, strive for excellence and to approach life without fear. He truly believed that his legacy would live with the success of his children. In the words of his youngest grandson; "I loved my Grandfather very much, that he taught me a lot about life, and that he was certainly a successful man and a great Grandfather."

Professionally, Bill Edgmon was highly regarded by all with whom he came in contact. His strength, work ethic and lack of fear enabled him to accomplish anything he set out to do and gained him enormous respect and admiration. He was skilled in all facets of mechanics and construction, and was never afraid to try a new venture. He was a self-educated man and continually used his experiences to mentor and enhance not only the skills of others, but their lives as well.

There are two main things you can say about Bill (Papa Bill, Wild Bill) Edgmon; He knew how to Live and how to Love.
