A funeral service for Wesley A. Metcalf, 69, of DeBerry, TX, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eric Peyton and Rev. Terry Cashion officiating. Interment will follow in Panola-Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Metcalf passed away on Friday evening, April 10, 2015, in Shreveport.

Wesley Allen Metcalf was born on Nov. 29, 1945, in Ft. Worth to the late Rexall Festus and Hazel Lucille Campbell Metcalf. He graduated from Arlington Heights High School with the class of 1963, and attended college. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. Mr. Metcalf married Barbara Jean Bukowsky on Nov. 1, 1986, at New Hebron Baptist Church in Elysian Fields and she preceded him in death on April 26, 2011. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad as a brakeman for over 31 years before his retirement. Mr. Metcalf served on the board of directors of the Panola County Farm Bureau for many years. He loved collecting antiques especially from the Civil War era and also railroad memorabilia.

Mr. Metcalf is survived by two sons, Greg Metcalf of DeBerry and Kenny Metcalf and wife Terra of Gower, MO and seven grandchildren, Dustin, Wade, Noah, Luke, Seth, Beau, and Levi Metcalf.

Pallbearers are Wade Metcalf, Noah Metcalf, Dustin Metcalf, Terry Will, Bobby Will, and Jimmy Boyd. Honorary pallbearers are Seth Metcalf, Beau Metcalf, Levi Metcalf, Luke Metcalf, and Jack Dillard.
