Mr. Wayne Edgar Bennett, age 77, of Beckville, TX formerly of Livingston, TX and Falls Church, VA, passed away on Tuesday evening, Nov. 1, 2011, in Longview, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.

Wayne Edgar Bennett was born on May 8, 1934, in Falls Church, VA to Edgar T. and Catherine Stevens Bennett. He served his country in the United States Navy for four years during the Korean War from 1951-1955 and was honorably discharged. Mr. Bennett married Anna Kathryn Johnson in January of 2001 in Cleveland, TX. He worked as a fire fighter from 1959-1991 for the Fairfax County Fire Department where he attained the rank of Captain. He was a sports enthusiast. Mr. Bennett moved to Beckville last year from Lake Livingston. He was a member of the St. James Catholic Church in Falls Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Michelle Segal.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife, Anna Kathryn (Kay) Bennett; three children, Doreen Leake and husband John, Rick Bennett, and Michael Bennett; four siblings, Carl Bennett, Clifford Gutridge, Cathy Tasker and husband Doug, and Nancy Graves and husband Francis; four step-children, Glenda Daniels and husband Wayne, Lynanna Messer and husband Greg, Kathy Smiley, and John English and wife Amy; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Bennett.
