A funeral service for Mr. Waymon Roy Hodge, age 58, of Longview, TX, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Hodge, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Bethel Cemetery, near Gary, TX. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Hodge passed away on Thursday night, Oct. 4, 2012, in Tyler, TX.
Waymon Roy Hodge was born in Carthage, TX, on August 21, 1954, to L. B. Hodge and Sylvia Bell Downing. His hobbies included drawing, singing and woodwork, and was known by friends as a master of all trades. Mr. Hodge loved barbequing and spending time with his family and friends, and his motto was to live wild and free. Mr. Hodge was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, William, Clyde, Odell, and Martell Hodge.
Mr. Hodge is survived by one daughter, Contessa Selen Kelly and husband Tim of Carthage; three brothers, Rusty Hodge and wife Sharon of Gary, H.L. Hodge and wife Sandra of Carthage, and David Hodge and wife Beverly of Carthage; four sisters, Clauden Hodge, Twila Andrews, Pearl Hodge and Pansy Hodge all of Gary; two grandchildren, Shayla Kelly Allred and husband Iain and Chad Kelly all of Carthage; and two great-grandchildren, Aden Hicks and Kole Kelly. Mr. Hodge is also survived by his girlfriend Julie Hart, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Chad Kelly, Iain Allred, Charlie Rhodes, Junior Andrews, Jamie Andrews and Bud Peveto.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Mr. Hodge's three brothers, Rusty Hodge, H.L. Hodge, and David Hodge and Zack Gintree, Jeremy Wright, and Shane Wright.
