Funeral services for Mrs. Wanda Mae Starkey, age 85, of Gary, TX, will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Thad Mills and Levi Cohorst officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday prior to service. Mrs. Starkey passed away on Thursday night, April 21, 2016, in Nacogdoches.

Wanda Mae Nutt Starkey was born on Jan. 29, 1931, in Panola County, TX to Travis Buford and Jessie Clotille Ross Nutt. She attended Gary High School. Mrs. Starkey loved working outside gardening and working in her flower beds, fishing, cooking, she loved working in her church and playing games with her family. Mrs. Starkey married John Ermon "Gotch" Starkey on March 6, 1948, in Clayton, TX. She was a member of Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Gary. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Ermon Starkey, son, Larry Dale Starkey, two grandsons, Clint and Clay Donnan, brother, Charles Nutt and sister, Sue Grafton.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda Choate and husband John of Gary, Betty Riggs and husband Wayne of Gary and Retha Starkey of Gary; daughter in-law, Linda Starkey; brother, Junior Nutt; sister, Beth Tate; brother in-law, James Grafton; sister in-law, Bobbie Nutt; ten grandchildren, Kim Nichols, Jerry Thomas, Shellie Odum, Amber Ross Schireman, Cody Donnan, Eric and Justin Riggs, Tammy Bearden, Trisha Evans and Marie Pendleton; twenty great-grandchildren, Max Nichols, Kirsten Coppenbarger, Jessica Thomas, Marissa and Emily Flores, Alex Ross, Caelan, Clara, and Mattie Donnan, Cole Riggs, Brayden Thomas, Blade and Nikke Gillispie, Torie, Kaytlynn, and Breanna Evans, Baylee, Brenden and Christopher Brown and Cullen Pendleton.

Serving as pallbearers are Jerry Thomas, Cody Donnan, Eric Riggs, Justin Riggs, Junior Odum, Max Nichols, Stacey Cohorst and Isaac Feltman.
