Wade Eugene Raines, Jr., 67, of the Walnut Grove Community near Carthage, TX went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2017, at home surrounded by his family. He was born Jan. 8, 1950, in Panola County, the youngest of four children born to the late Rev. and Mrs. Wade Eugene Raines, Sr. At an early age, Wade united with New Haven C.M.E. Church in the Walnut Grove Community. He graduated 4 ^th in his class from Turner High School in 1968, and attended East Texas State University. He retired from Tyson Foods in July of 2015. Mr. Raines was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jimmy R. Raines; nephew, Joe R. McMillian, Jr. and niece, Jacqueline McMillian.

Mr. Raines is survived by his wife, Roseanna Raines of Missouri City; children, Christopher Monté Raines and wife Erika of Ft. Worth and Matthew Timothy Wade Raines of Katy; sisters, Margaret Ann Scott and Bonnie Sue McMillian and husband Joe Roy all of Carthage; sister-in-law, Joy Raines of Round Rock; 4 grandchildren, 2 nieces, 3 nephews, cousins, and numerous other relatives and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Walnut Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Kirthel Roberts officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Mr. Raines will lie in state from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are C.J. Raines, Ky Thompson, Zachary McMillian, and Michael McMillian.

Honorary pallbearers are Christopher Raines, Matthew Raines, Jim Raines, Robert Walton Jr., Audray McMillian, and Joe Roy McMillian Sr.
