Graveside services for Mr. W. F. Cryer, age 93, of the Woods Community in Panola County, TX, will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at Antioch Cemetery with Rev. Rodney Puryear officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:00 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Cryer passed away on Friday morning, Aug. 17, 2012, in Carthage.

William Franklin Cryer was born on Nov. 25, 1918, in Fal, LA to Isacc Franklin and Rosie Viola McWilliams Cryer. Mr. Cryer graduated from high school in Haughton, LA with the class of 1937. He married Aline Cryer on May 27, 1939, in Bossier City, LA and she preceded him in death on Aug. 24, 2001. Mr. Cryer proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp during WWII from 1943-1946, at which time he was honorably discharged. He worked as an instrument technician in the oil field industry for Celanese until his retirement. Mr. Cryer moved to Panola County in 1977, from Pasadena, TX, and was a member of the Woods New Hope Baptist Church. Mr. Cryer was also preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Denys Willine Nimir who passed away on Dec. 30, 2011.

Mr. Cryer is survived by two grandchildren, Nadia Martin and James Nimri of Hurst, TX; and three great-grandchildren, Robert Martin, Austin Nimri and Barrett Nimri, all of Hurst, TX.

Serving as pallbearers will be James Nimri, Robby Martin, Basem Nimri, Tareq Nimri and the men of the Woods Community.
