Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Sue McCormack Todd, age 90, of Dallas, TX, formerly of the Long Branch Community in Panola County, TX, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2011, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Jackson and Dr. William Everett officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Todd passed away on Tuesday morning, March 1, 2011, in Carthage.
Virginia Sue McCormack Todd was born on Jan. 18, 1921, in Long Branch, TX to Jewel and Mary Hudman McCormack. She attended school at Long Branch and graduated in 1938. Mrs. Todd then attended Stephen F. Austin State University where she met Walter C. Todd. She and Mr. Todd were married on May 30, 1941, in Lake Charles, LA. Mrs. Todd was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Until her declining health, Mrs. Todd was a very active and faithful member of Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, where she taught children's Sunday school for many years. She was preceded in death by an infant sister; her parents; and her husband.
Mrs. Todd is survived by three sons, James Todd of Dallas, Ralph C. Todd and wife Pam of Carthage, and Cliff R. Todd and wife Denise of Carthage; three grandchildren, Ralph M. Todd and wife Lori of Bentonville, Arkansas, Kristen Rueda and husband Al of Ft. Worth, and Sara Roth and husband Jonathan of Dallas; and three great-grandchildren, Bria, Kinley, and Caden Todd.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Briarcliff Skilled Nursing Center and Heart's Way Hospice and the Homebound Department of Central Baptist Church for the loving care shown to Mrs. Todd.
Serving as pallbearers are Bill O'Neal, Gene Giles, Dr. Keith Keeling, Billy Todd Bryan, Ralph M. Todd, Richard Todd, and Al Rueda.
Serving as an honorary pallbearer is Jonathan Roth.
