Obituary

To the union of Ms. Essie Dee Williams and Mr. James Williams, six children were born. They are James, Allen, Mattie, Vincent, Essie, and Telford.

Vincent Ray Williams was born on Nov. 16, 1956, in Galveston, Texas. Ray was the fourth child of the Williams family. At an early age, Ray accepted Christ and was baptized a member of First St. Mathew Baptist Church in Hitchcock, TX.

Vincent Ray Williams was always a very affectionate person. Ray loved getting and giving hugs, kisses, and handshakes from everyone he met. He enjoyed sitting on the front porch and waving hello to everyone that passed by. Ray always loved the company of others. He loved hide and seek games. Ray would quickly take your hat, scarf, or glasses off of you. Then you had to wrestle with Ray to get it back. Meanwhile, Ray would be smiling and chuckling hard the whole time. He also enjoyed going to church, watching TV, especially football and wrestling, music, dancing, and car rides. But Ray's most favorite past time was eating. Ray loved, loved food.

Vincent Ray Williams passed away on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019, at Woodland Heights Hospital in Lufkin, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Essie Dee Williams; his oldest brother, James Raymond Williams, Jr.; and his youngest brother, Telford Lynn Williams.

Ray leaves to cherish his loving memories his sisters, Essie Prevost and Mattie Kenney; his brother-in-law, Clemon P. Prevost, Sr.; nephew, Clemon P. Prevost, Jr.; brother, Allen Williams; and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.
