Graveside services for Mrs. Verna Nora Erickson, age 95 of Cleburne, Texas formerly of Carthage, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at Bethlehem Cemetery in the Snap Community with Brother David Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Mrs. Erickson will lie in state on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Erickson passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2006 in Cleburne, Texas.

Verna Nora Nelson Erickson was born on December 20, 1911 in Hood County, Texas to William Charles and Beatrice Brown Nelson. She married Fred L. Erickson on September 13, 1963. Mrs. Erickson and husband owned and operated the Adams Furniture Store which is now Bauer Furniture in Carthage for many years. She loved crappie fishing. Mrs. Erickson was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Carthage. She moved from Carthage in 2000 to Cleburne, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Erickson on October 31, 1990, five brothers, and two sisters.

Mrs. Erickson is survived by her sister, Lena Mae Williams of Cleburne, Texas; two step-children, Sam Erickson and wife Lorraine of Arlington and Fredrick Erickson and wife Sandra of Aledo, Texas; special grandchild and caregiver, Angi Beaty and husband Bob of Cleburne, Texas, special caregiver in Carthage, Patsy Reeves, numerous grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
