Graveside services for Mrs. Vera Rushing, age 94 of Allen, TX, formerly of Carthage, TX, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, March 22, 2010, at Arlington Cemetery in Homer, LA with Kevin Kleiner officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Mrs. Rushing passed away on Thursday night, March 18, 2010, in Allen.

Vera Warden Rushing was born on July 21, 1915, in Oil City, LA to Charlie and Edith Sisk Warden. She graduated from high school in Haynesville, LA. She married Colon D. Rushing and he preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 2002. Mrs. Rushing lived in Carthage for over 30 years, moving from Vivian, LA. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Vena Bright; sister, Dorothy Bella; and one brother, Charles Warden.

Mrs. Rushing is survived by two sons, Charles Rushing and Sharon of Georgetown, TX and Paul Rushing and Janice of Magnolia, TX; eleven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
