Vanessa Renee Walton Ford, 55, of Carthage, passed away on Saturday evening, March 2, 2019, in Carthage. She was born on March 17, 1963, in Carthage to Travis Leon and Altha V. Benson Walton. Vanessa graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1982, and earned a CNA degree. She loved spending time with her family. Her father preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Altha Hatcher; daughters, LaKisha Ford and Tomeka Williams; son, Corey Ford; sisters, Sonya Rollins (Harold) and Audrey Walton; brothers, Jerome Walton (Ericka), Charles Walton (Liz), and Cortez Walton (Angie); and grandchildren, Maziya Allison, Keauna Ford, and Khennadi Ford. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive Mrs. Ford.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Bishop Hubert Owens officiating. Interment will follow in Holland's Quarter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
