Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. Troy L. Lake, 95 of the Dotson Community in Panola County, Texas will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2007 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dale Walker and Dr. P.A. DuBose officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Bethel Cemetery near Gary with Brother Calvin Hancock and Jim Rhiddlehoover officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Lake passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 in Nacogdoches.

Troy Leander Lake was born on April 13, 1912 in Panola County, Texas to Walter Columbus and Annie Cora Griffith Lake. He married Theda Blondell Wilkerson on February 4, 1939 in Panola County. Mr. Lake had lived in Panola County most of his life where he was a farmer and rancher. Mr. Lake was a member of the Northside Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by one brother, Apton Lake; three sisters, Mable Chadwick, Pearl Chadwick, and Virgie Carrico; and two great-grandchildren, Harrison Steele and Ali Steele.

Mr. Lake is survived by his wife of 68 years, Theda Lake of the Dotson Community; four sons, Troy Lynn Lake and wife Jeanette of Gary, Walter Lake and wife Billie of Longview, Joe Lake and wife Judy of Henderson, and Maxie Lake and wife Janice of Gary; one daughter, Judy Stuart and husband Chilton of Carthage; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; special friends, Gary Rogerson and wife Kathy of Clayton; a special nephew, Sidney Burns and wife Connie of the Murvaul Community. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive Mr. Lake.

The family would like to thank Mr. Lake's caregivers, Mercy Odom, Monicia Reeves, and Clovers Matlock.

Serving as pallbearers are Dwain Lake, Brad Lake, Chad Lake, Jeremy Stuart, Trae Stuart, Kevin Lake, Kyle Lake, Steve Strain, Allan Preddy, and Jason Steele.
