A Celebration of Life for Mr. Tony Weldon Gilliam, 50, of Carthage, TX, will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Mr. Gilliam passed away on Monday morning, Jan. 13, 2014, in Carthage.
Tony Weldon Gilliam was born on Feb. 21, 1963, in Baird, TX to Joe and Cloretta Franklin Gilliam. He worked as a chiller operator at Tyson Foods in Carthage for the past six years. He married Kahlan Jones on Sept. 4, 2005, in Carthage. Mr. Gilliam loved riding his bike and working out. He moved to Carthage in 2006, from Petty, TX. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, James Gilliam.
Mr. Gilliam is survived by his wife, Kahlan Gilliam of Carthage; his mother and step-father, Cloretta Massey and Rod Setness of Petty; two sons, Brandon Keith Moore and wife Amber of New Braunfels and Kevin Parker and wife Brandi of Oklahoma; one daughter, Kayla Dawn Royal and husband Eric of Oklahoma; three brothers, Dusty Land and wife Casey of Houston, Clay Land of Baton Rouge, and Bryan Gilliam of Idaho; one sister, Sandra Land of Baton Rouge; and seven grandchildren.
