Tina Hampton-Courtney, age 67, of Tatum, Texas, passed away on Thursday afternoon, April 17, 2025, in Tyler, Texas. Frances Christina Fink was born on July 12, 1957, in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late Francis Leo and Alla Mae Nelson Fink. She owned and operated Tatum Feed Store for many years before her retirement. Tina married James Michael Courtney on September 9, 2006, in Gregg County and he preceded her in death on January 22, 2022. She loved all animals especially dogs and horses. In her younger years, she competed in professional barrel racing and showed horses. To know Tina was to know her deep faith and love of Jesus Christ. She always said she looked forward to seeing her Mike in heaven right after she saw Jesus. Tina was a member of Grace Christian Fellowship in Tatum where she served as the church secretary. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Newland.
She is survived by her children, Brandon Courtney and wife Jordan, Luke Courtney and wife Holly, and Cassi Goolsby and husband Clay; grandchildren, Haylie, Caitlyn, Michael Ann, Madison, Jeremiah, Abigail, and J.J.; special sister, Marie Alford; sisters-in-law, Sharon Abel (Kelly) and Sally Courtney; and brothers-in-law, Joe T. Winn (Loretta) and Jimmie Courtney (Anita).
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Grace Christian Fellowship in Tatum with James Boone officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. A time of visitation will follow the memorial service at the church.
