A funeral service for Mr. Terry Wayne Rhodes, Sr., age 50, of Shreveport, LA, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bureau Gatlin officiating. Interment will follow in Charity Chapel Cemetery in Keatchie, LA. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Knighton-Pierremont in Shreveport, LA.
Terry Wayne Rhodes, Sr. was born on Dec. 30, 1962, in Shreveport, LA to the proud parents of John and Alice Daughetry Rhodes. He graduated from Rosewald High School in Logansport, LA with the class of 1980. Mr. Rhodes worked as a truck driver for Downy Moving Van for many years. He loved trucking and cooking. Mr. Rhodes moved to Shreveport in 2006, from Little Rock, Ark., and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Debra McDaniel; and one brother, Jimmy Rhodes.
He leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, LaChandler Rusley of Shreveport, LA., and Terry Wayne Rhodes, Jr. of Little Rock, Ark.; one stepson: Courtney Wallace, Jr.; four brothers: Johnny Rhodes, (Brenda) of Shreveport, LA., Lavarn Rhodes, (JoAnn) of Carthage, TX., Louis Rhodes, (Senora) of Shreveport, LA., and Larry Rhodes of Shreveport, LA.; two sisters: Brenda Collins and Linda Horton, (Roosevelt), all of Shreveport, LA.; and two granddaughters: Kaniree Rusley and Janyriah Rusley. Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also leave to cherish his memory.
