Sylvia Heaton Meuth was born on October 6, 1923, and went to be with her Lord and Savior November 16, 2015. Sylvia was born in Gary, Texas to Jewel and Joe Heaton. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, aunt, and friend. After graduation from Gary High School, she attended a business college in Dallas then returned to Gary where she met the love of her life, Melvin Meuth. They were married June 1,
1944. They lived in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas and California before settling in Pecos,Texas. While living in Pecos, Sylvia worked as a secretary for the First United Methodist Church and later for the Pecos Consolidated Independent School District. After twenty years of service, she retired from PCISD and moved to Round Rock to be near her first grandchild. Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert Melvin Meuth, and six siblings. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Round Rock. She enjoyed traveling locally and within the United States. However, her most enjoyment came from travel to Russia, Europe, and Canada. She also, enjoyed visiting with family and friends and gardening.
She is survived by her sons: Tom Meuth of Round Rock, Texas and Bob Meuth and wife, Lynda of Midland, Texas and grandchildren, Marc Meuth and wife, Claudia of Okinawa, Japan and Meredith McNeese and husband, Jeremy of Lisbon, Portugal.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday November 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Gary Cemetery.
