Funeral services for Mrs. Sybil Gentry Parker , age 89, of Carthage, TX will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Duane Turner officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery in the Shady Grove Community. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at the funerl home. Mrs. Parker passed away on Tuesday morning, June 30, 2009 in Carthage, TX.

Sybil Gentry Parker was born on September 9, 1919, in the Brooks Community of Panola County, Texas to Will Tipp and Mary Waldrop Gentry. Mrs. Parker attended the Brooks Community Schools. She married Charles Vinson Parker on June 18, 1938. Mrs. Parker lived all of her life in Panola County and was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband who passed away on June 13, 1988; and three brothers, Glen, J.C., and Hayes Gentry, and a daughter-in-law, Ann Parker.

Mrs. Parker is survived by two sons, Gene Parker of the Shady Grove Community and Jimmy Parker and wife Yvette of the Shady Grove Community; one sister, Dorothy Woods of Belton; three sisters-in-law, Lorene Gentry of Carthage, Lavis Gentry of Marshall, and Nelwyn Parker of Carthage; five grandchildren, JeAnna Lickey and husband Ron of Plano, Cara Rowntree and husband Dr. Jason Rowntree of Lansing, Michigan, Stacey Fox and husband David of Benton, Louisiana, Misty Parker of Dallas, and Mandy Parker of Tyler; and eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. Parker.

Serving as pallbearers are Mike Parker, Donnie McRae, Rudy Snow, Jerry Stallings, Don Williams, Ron Lickey, and David Fox.
