Funeral services for Mrs. Susie Mae Fields Dorman, age 72, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 30, 2010, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park near Carthage. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Dorman passed away on Wednesday afternoon, July 28, 2010, at her home in Carthage.

Susie Mae Fields Dorman was born on Feb. 23, 1938, in Shelby County, TX to Roy Delton Fields and Susie Elizabeth Mills Fields. She attended Carthage schools. She married William Weldon Dorman on Feb. 24, 1956, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1985. Mrs. Dorman loved sewing and gardening. She lived most of her life in Carthage and was a former member of the Northside Assembly. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a great-grandson, Kelly Dean Postell.

Mrs. Dorman is survived by one son, Darren Dorman of Carthage; two daughters, Phyllis Sipes and husband David of Beckville and Talitha Collins of Carthage; two brothers, Clive Fields and wife Lucille of Carthage and Jerrel Fields and wife Linda of Carthage; two sisters, Erma Fae Adams and husband Elvy of Carthage and Delores Phillips of Carthage; ten grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are Joey Fields, Jeremy Fields, Jerrett Fields, Scotty Fields, Albert Williams, and Zack Fincher.
