Funeral services for Mrs. Susan Dee Ray Moreland, age 52, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Keith Prather officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Moreland passed away on Monday morning, Feb. 20, 2012, in Longview.

Susan Dee Ray Moreland was born on Jan. 7, 1960, to Henry Clay and Margie Jean Anderson Ray. She graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1978. Mrs. Moreland married Richard Lee Moreland on June 10, 1978, at the Shady Grove Baptist Church near DeBerry. She worked for many years with Blue Cross Blue Shield as a claims supervisor. Susan loved her family dearly. She had lived her lifetime in Panola County and was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Moreland was preceded in death by her father and one sister, Barbara Moreland.

Mrs. Moreland is survived by her husband, Richard Moreland of Carthage; her mother, Margie Ray of DeBerry; one son, Brannon Moreland of College Station; two daughters, Brittany Moreland of College Station and Bradi Moreland of Carthage; one brother, Terry Ray and wife Teresa of DeBerry; three sisters, Martha Cox and husband James, Beth Ray, and Helen Mercer and husband James all of DeBerry; and two brothers-in-law, Charlie Moreland of Carthage and James Moreland and wife Cindy of DeBerry. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive Mrs. Moreland.

Serving as pallbearers are Clay Cox, Len Ray, Jeremy Ray, Dylan Mercer, Braxton Cox, and Eric Ware.

Serving as an honorary pallbearer is Tommy Cox.
