Susan Gohlke, 69, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Sunday morning, July 5, 2020, in Longview, TX. Susan Elizabeth Bailey was born on Sept. 15, 1950, in Vivian, LA to the late John Morris and Bernice Alene Norsworthy Bailey. She graduated from high school in Pharr, TX with the class of 1968, and attended business college in McAllen. Susan married Patrick Lyons Gohlke on Sept. 18, 1970, in Pharr. Mrs. Gohlke worked at Pan American College in Edinburg, TX in the security office as a secretary and clerk. She moved to Carthage in 1981, from Kilgore and worked as the church secretary at Rehobeth United Methodist where she was a former member. Susan was a current member of Central Baptist Church in Carthage. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Bailey.

Mrs. Gohlke is survived by her husband, Patrick Gohlke of Carthage; daughters, Trisha Kaunitz and husband Eric of Gilmer and Traci Rogers and husband Lee of Coweta, OK; brother, David Bailey and wife Janie of Tyler; and grandchildren, Christian Fennell and wife Jaylan, Hannah Kaunitz, Leah Kaunitz, and Cheryl Rogers.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
