Obituary

Susan Donohoe, of Henderson, Texas, passed away on Sunday morning, December 13, 2020. Sue moved to Texas after her retirement from serving as Vice-President of Women's Basketball in Indianapolis, Indiana and then as director of the Kay Yow Cancer Foundation in Raleigh, North Carolina. She is originally from Pineville, Louisiana, where she began her basketball career as a starter on the first girl's basketball team at Pineville High. From there she went to Louisiana Tech where, as a graduate student, she was an assistant coach for the Lady Techsters when they won the first National Championship, under the direction of Sonja Hogg. After graduation, Sue coached at Carthage High School, Lake Highland High School, Assistant Coach at Stephen F. Austin with Gary Blair, Assistant Coach at the University of Arkansas, Assistant Athletic Director at U of A, served at the SEC, then the NCAA Men's Division Final Four, next -Vice-President for Women's Basketball with the NCAA, then the Director of the Kay Yow Foundation. Sue gave her life to the promotion and advancement of Women's Basketball. She served tirelessly and with a passion that showed in everything she did.

She is survived by a sister, brother-in-law, niece and her husband and two children; an older nephew, his wife and three children; and a younger nephew. Her family of friends is a very large family. She has loved and been loved by many dear friends through the years. She made a difference in the lives of so many and left many memories in many hearts.
