Sue Keen, 69, of Shreveport, LA, passed away on Wednesday morning, Sept. 18, 2019, in Shreveport. Bennie Sue Nelson was born on Dec. 3, 1949, in Haughton, LA to the late Lloyd and Eunice Scott Green. She graduated from Haughton High School with the class of 1967. Sue worked for many years in the home health business, founding Arklatex and Interem Home Health agencies in Bossier City. She more recently worked as a blackjack dealer at the Horseshoe Casino until her retirement. Sue married John Gary Keen on June 16, 2008, in Shreveport. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sue loved crafts and gardening. She was a very talented self-taught pianist and organist and often played at church. Sue lived most of her lifetime in the Shreveport area, where she was a member of Word of Life Ministries.
Mrs. Keen is survived by her husband, Gary Keen of Shreveport; children, Shawyn Leininger of Austin, Shalene Jenkins of Edmond, OK, Shannon Leininger of Vivian, LA and Jessica Goodman of Vivian; and grandchildren, Ravenne, Shelby, Caje, Zagan, and Jaxson.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, at Panola-Mt. Zion Cemetery with Dr. Dale Reed officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
