Sue Edge, age 73, of Bastrop, Texas, passed away on Wednesday morning, July 16, 2025, in a Fort Worth, Texas hospital. Paula Sue McCarley was born on August 27, 1951, in Carrizo Springs, Texas to the late Rhual and Laura Ann Galant McCarley. She graduated from Gregory-Portland High school in Portland, Texas with the class of 1969. Sue earned her Associate's Degree in Accounting from Drones College in Fort Worth. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies from Patriot Bible University in Del Norte, Colorado. Sue married Raymond L. Edge on June 4, 1971, in Portland, Texas. She loved music and going to the farm where she would spread wildflower seeds with her daughter. She loved her granddogs and one of the highlights of her life was living in Israel for 6 ½ years with her husband. Sue was a member of First Baptist Church of Bastrop where she enjoyed serving in the role of pastor's wife there for 27 years. She also enjoyed teaching Sunday School. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by 5 siblings.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Dr. Raymond L. Edge; daughter, Tanya L. Edge Outland and husband Lon; 4 siblings; and 5 granddogs.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Old Center Cemetery with Dr. Raymond L. Edge officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 4-6 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
