Steven Ray Wright

Steven Ray Wright was born on February 2, 1962, and passed away on Tuesday evening, July 14, 2026, in Carthage, Texas, at the age of 64.

Steve spent many years working as a truck driver, a profession that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication. He enjoyed staying busy and had an exceptional ability to repair just about anything he set his mind to. If he didn't already know how to fix something, he would research it until he figured it out, making him a true jack-of-all-trades. In his spare time, Steve found joy in fishing and gardening, two hobbies that brought him peace and satisfaction.

In 2009, Steve made Carthage his home after relocating from Houston. He will be remembered for his resourcefulness, determination, and willingness to tackle any challenge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary; and his brother, Chris Wright.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Stephanie Kennedy and husband, Thomas, Kimberly Wright, Amy Pass and husband, Micah, and Ashley Schmidt; his grandchildren, Jessica Kennedy, Amanda Kennedy, Michael Kennedy, Katy Kennedy, Bentley Pass, Haylie Pass, Henry Pass, Robbie Schmidt, and Gracie Belrose; his sister, Connie; along with other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
