Graveside services for Mr. Steven Richard Williams, age 56, of Longview, TX formerly of Carthage, TX, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at Carthage City Cemetery with Pastor Don Beebe and Dr. Kirby Hill officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home prior to the service. Mr. Williams passed away on Thursday morning, Jan. 5, 2012, in Longview.

Steven Richard Williams was born on Jan. 6, 1955, in Carthage, TX, to R.C. and Bettie Louise Eppinger Williams. He graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1973. Mr. Williams married Editha Ann Murray on June 20, 1976, in Carthage. He had worked in the pipeline construction business and at Texas Utilities for many years. Mr. Williams was currently employed at Good Shepard Medical Center in Longview. He loved hunting and fishing. Mr. Williams moved to Longview in 2004, from Carthage and was a member of Grace Baptist Temple in Kilgore. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother-in-law, Bobby Brooks.

Mr. Williams is survived by his mother, Bettie Williams of Carthage; his wife, Editha Williams of Longview; one son, Steven Wade Williams of Longview; one daughter, Stephanie Shivers of Longview; one brother, Ronnie Williams of Carthage; one sister, Patty Orbaugh and husband Kris of Carthage; sister-in-law, Nancy Brooks of Carthage; two grandchildren, Clay and Chelsea Shivers; and six nieces, Shelleigh Williams, Skylar Williams, Becky Bell, Mimi Grinninger, Krista Orbaugh, Kassie Orbaugh. Numerous great nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Williams.

Serving as pallbearers are Shawn Grinninger, Matt Ayres, Brent Pierce, Jeff Bachman, Mike Bell, and Steve Algood.
