Obituary

Steven Dee Hobbs, 67, of Deadwood, TX, passed away on Friday night, April 9, 2021, in Houston, TX. He was born on Jan. 1, 1954, in Lubbock, TX to the late Willie and Marie Gregory Hobbs. Steve graduated from Stamford High School with the class of 1972. He married Sharon Marie Vaughan on June 9, 1984, in Snyder, TX. Steve was a cattle rancher and enjoyed being a full time "Big Daddy" to Jake and Jordan. He was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, and brother. Steve was a man of faith, finding God in the birth of a newborn calf or riding in the hayfield. To Steve, God was all around him. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Karan Line.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 37 years, Sharon Hobbs of Deadwood; daughter, Lisa Tondreau and husband Brandon of Carthage; brother, Gary Hobbs and wife Lori of Perrin, TX; grandchildren, Jacob Tondreau and fiancé Ronni Ward and Jordan Holland and husband Tryston; and great-grandson, Axel Holland.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Deadwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Brandon Tondreau, Jake Tondreau, Tryston Holland, Tristan Morris, Gary Hobbs, and Eric Peterson.
