IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Steve
Langford
March 8, 1951 – December 11, 2025
Steve Arnold Langford, age 74, of Carthage, Texas, passed away Thursday evening, December 11, 2025, in Longview, Texas. Steve was born on March 8, 1951, in Carthage to the late Chapman Chester Langford and Katie Lanette "Lou" Arnold Langford. He graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1969 and attended Panola College before earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University. On December 28, 1973, Steve married the love of his life, Patsy Jean Milam, in Carthage. The couple made their home in Arlington, where Steve worked in the grocery business for Winn-Dixie. He faithfully served in music ministry for more than 50 years and was a charter member of Crestview Missionary Baptist Church in Arlington. In 2005, Steve and Patsy returned to Carthage. He worked as a loan officer at Farmers State Bank until his retirement and was active in civic life as a member of the Carthage Noon Lions Club. He was a 32° Mason, and was a member of Carthage Masonic Lodge #521, Sharon Temple Shrine, and the Waco Scottish Rite Bodies. Steve loved the outdoors—hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature—and he cherished every moment with his family. His greatest joy was being "G-Dad" to his beloved "Knot Heads." He was a devoted member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, where he formerly served as music minister and currently served as a Deacon.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Patsy Langford; sons, Stephen and Scott Langford; sister, Patti Lou Williams and husband Keith; grandchildren, lovingly known as his Knot Heads, Carson, Jake, Anniston, Cannon, and Easton; niece, Katie Jo Davis and husband Mitch; nephew, Clint Williams; great-niece, Kinsley; and great-nephew, Myles.
