Steve Holland, 76, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Saturday morning, March 23, 2024, at his home in the Del Ray Community of Panola County. Steven Jansen Holland was born on January 15, 1948, in Henderson, Texas to the late Leland R. and June Ellen Pierce Holland. He graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1966, and attended Panola College. Steve served honorably in the U.S. Air Force from 1968-1972. He married Cynthia Darlene "Cindy" Brewster on March 6, 1971, in Bedford, Texas, and she preceded him in death on February 1, 2018, after 47 years together. Steve had a 40+ year career in the Oil and Gas Industry working with Amoco/B.P. and he cherished the lifelong friendships made through the years. He enjoyed coaching his kids in youth baseball and softball, playing golf and softball, and watching rodeo. He loved his cows, his King Ranch horse, all of his pets, and especially fishing with his grandchildren and spending time with his family. Steve lived his lifetime in Panola County and was a member of Ebenezer Methodist Church in the Del Ray Community. He was also preceded in death by a son, Chad Austin Holland and a grandson, Jansen Rhyder Holland.

Steve is survived by daughter, Jodie Holland Edwards and husband Justin; son, Josh Holland and wife Stacey; daughter, Rosa Viasana and husband Jon Beach; grandchildren, Devin Seefluth, Dylan Cash Holland, Micah Reese Holland, and Logan Xavier Holland; brothers, Tim Holland and wife Sue and Terry Holland and wife Debbie Jo; brothers-in-law, Jef Brewster and Mike Brewster and wife Tricia; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Holland officiating. Interment will follow with Military Honors in Walton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Jason Holland, David Holland, Matt Holland, Khakie Jo Holland, Ryan Brewster, Kyle Brewster, Greg Hunt, Chris Plemmons, Devin Seefluth, and Dylan Holland.

Honorary pallbearers are Jace Brewster, Zane Brewster, Micah Holland,  and Logan Holland.
