Sterling Ross Fletcher, 66, of Carthage, TX, passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, in Carthage after a decline in health. He was surrounded and supported by his loving wife and family the last days of his life. Sterling Ross "Bubba" Fletcher was born on Feb. 24, 1952, in DeBerry, TX to the late L.B. and Mildred Jeter Fletcher. Bubba graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Elysian Fields, TX with the class of 1970, where he lettered in football and baseball.  He married Jennifer Brent on July 3, 1999, in Carthage. Bubba enjoyed fishing but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. His family and friends will greatly miss him but he will always remain in our hearts and fondest memories. He was preceded in death by his parents and other siblings.

Mr. Fletcher is survived by his devoted and faithful wife, Jennifer Fletcher; son, Sterling Ross Fletcher, Jr. and wife Orara; daughter, Helen Fletcher; brothers, Roy Fletcher, Kenneth Fletcher and wife Anzetta, and Troy, L.A., and Melvin Williams; sisters, Opal Marks and husband Elbert, Mildred Salone, Jewel Soles, Rennell Nesbitt and husband Rubin, and Dazell Hicks and husband Rev. Leon Hicks; and special friend, Willie James Mitchell; A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Vinson Murphy officiating. A reception will follow at the Community House at Davis Park in Carthage.
