Stella Owens, 82, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Friday morning, June 19, 2020, in Carthage. Stella Faye McClard Owens was born on Oct. 31, 1937, in Arp, TX to the late John Dee and Edna Giles McClard. She attended Gaston and Arp schools. Stella lived in Carthage most of her life and attended Northside Christian Center. She worked at Joe's Café in Carthage for many years. Stella loved watching Dallas Cowboys football and Texas Rangers baseball. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, "Big John" McClard and Douglas McClard.

Survivors include her daughters, Betty Hammons and husband Stanley of Carthage and Deborah Britt and husband George of Republic, MO; grandchildren, Melissa Rogers and husband Dusty, Heath Britt and wife Lydia, Casey King and husband Ethan, Shelby Whitman and husband Jason, Coby Hammons, and Wayne Beason; and great-grandchildren, Cayden Neal Campbell, Sawyer and Tucker Rogers, and one on the way.  She is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Dale Reed and Bro. Brandon Pierce officiating. Interment will follow at Mason Cemetery in Arp. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers are Wayne Beason, Dusty Rogers, Heath Britt, Ethan King, Jason Whitman, and Coby Hammons.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Cayden Neal Campbell, Sawyer Rogers, and Tucker Rogers.
