Stanley Hammons, age 59, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Tuesday evening, August 12, 2025, in a Plano, Texas hospital. Stanley Lane Hammons was born on Oct. 2, 1965, in Carthage to the late Travis Neal and Dorothy Mae Wills Hammons. Stanley graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1984. He married Betty Jean Allred on May 18, 1985, in Beckville, Texas. Stanley worked for NACCO for 40 years, which included working at Sabine Mine, Caddo Creek Mine, and most recently Mitigation Resources of North America. He loved motorcycles, especially riding his Harley. He enjoyed working on and fixing anything including four-wheel drives. Stanley was a member of Northside Christian Center. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Hammons; children, Casey Mathis and husband Wil, Shelby Whitman and husband Jason, Coby Hammons, and Wayne Beason; siblings, Debbie Gibbs, Sharon Burgess and husband John, and Eddie Neal Hammons and wife Linda; grandson, Cayden Campbell; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Nathan Brown and William Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in New Prospect Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers are James Pitre, Mike Bagley, Tommy Bagley, Butch Davis, Corey Weathy, Cayden Campbell, and Wayne Beason. Honorary pallbearers are Kent Crittendon, John Burgess, George Britt, Allan Cain, and Clayton Eubank.
