Sigrid Reeves, 82, of DeBerry, TX, passed away Sunday morning, March 20, 2022, at her home in DeBerry. She was born on January 6, 1940, in Leipzig, Germany, to the late Ferdinand and Gertrude Eder Schwab. Sigrid was born during World War II and learned to survive in the post-war world. She met and married her husband, James D. Reeves, in West Germany in 1961. She was a devoted housewife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Sigrid's hobbies were fishing, gardening, sewing, cutting hair and raising dogs. She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Reeves; parents; Ferdinand and Gertrude Schwab; and brothers, Udo and Bernhardt Schwab.
Sigrid is survived by her son, Michael and wife Rene; grandsons, Jonathan and wife Casey, Christopher and wife Brandi; great-grandchildren, Cade and Ellie Lynn and Aaron Reeves and girlfriend Claire Nicole Huynh. Also surviving are her nephews in Germany, Michael, Thomas and wife Yvonne, Andreas and wife Bonita and son, Luca Schwab; sister-in-law, Dianne Long and husband James, Dianne's son, David and her daughter, Lisa Sommers, and Lisa's daughter, Mandie Rhymes and husband Casey; cousin, Charles Broussard and wife Debbie; their daughter, Amy and husband John and their daughter, Katy Ogden.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Christ Lutheran Church, LCMS, located at 290 Idema Street, Shreveport, Louisiana. There will be a time of visitation from 3-4 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
The family requests that any memorials be made to Christ Lutheran Church, LCMS.
The family thanks all medical staff of Willis Knighton Hospital and Heartsway Hospice. A special thanks to Carolyn Neitche, Sharon Odom, and Nancy Blake for their support during this time.
