Funeral services for Mr. Sidney "Buddy" Risinger, age 55 of Carthage, Texas, will be held 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Freddy Mason officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park near Carthage. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Risinger passed away on Sunday morning, February 1, 2009.

Sidney Virgil "Buddy" Risinger was born on May 28, 1953 in Panola County, Texas to Sidney Virgil Risinger, Sr. and Virgie Porter Risinger. Mr. Risinger was educated in the Carthage schools. He married Mary Josephine Monte on June 23, 1985. Mr. Risinger worked as an operator for Pierce Construction Company in Beckville for the past 15 years. He lived all of his life in Panola County and was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Chip Lofton who passed away on August 13, 2003.

Mr. Risinger is survived by his wife, Mary Risinger of Carthage; one son, Lynn Burlison and wife Tiffany of Carthage; one daughter, Elizabeth Hobbs and husband Jason of Henderson; eight grandchildren, Allison Burlison, Gary Lofton, Johnathon Burlison, Wesley Lofton, Hannah Rasbury-Burlison, Haley Burlison, Madeleine Wells, and Jackson Burlison.

Serving as pallbearers are Mickey Townsend, Frank Allums, Kevin Postell, Kirk Abshire, Justin Pierce, and Larry Jacks.
