Obituary
A funeral service for Mrs. Shirley Lee Franks, age 73, of Tatum, TX, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Jimerson-Lispey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Daniel Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Elderville Cemetery near Lakeport. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Franks passed away on Monday night, Dec. 31, 2012, at her home
in Tatum.
Shirley Lee Carrell Franks was born on June 26, 1939, in Nashville, TN to John Frank and Pauline Louise Hudgens Carrell. She worked as a truck driver for many years. She married Travis Wayne Franks on Aug. 10, 1954, in Clarksville, TX and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Franks has lived in Tatum for over 30 years, moving there from Clarksville. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ernest and James Carrell; one sister, Bonnie Staggs; and one son-in-law, Stanley Frugia.
Mrs. Franks is survived by five sons, Ronald Franks and wife Vickie of Idabel, OK, John Franks of Elderville, Claude Thomas Franks and wife Rana of Tatum, Timothy Franks and wife Melissa of Mt. Enterprise, and Steve Franks and wife Deanna of Timpson; four daughters, Connie Frugia of Summit, MS, Lynette Durbin and husband Rodney of Gilmer, Terresa Graham and husband Earl of Tatum, and Lynn Baham of Shreveport; three brothers, Charles Carrell and wife Janes, Roger Carrell and wife Rita, and Donnie Carrell and wife Gladys all of Oklahoma; four sisters, Judy Rice and husband Wendel, Christine Carrell and husband Jack, Jewel Richardson and husband Jim, and Jannie Rice all of Oklahoma; twenty nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Terry DeYoung, John DeYoung, Steven Earl Jennings, Kevin Carrell, Kyle Wayne Durbin, and Dewayne Grimes.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jason Dale Franks, John Allen Franks, Michael Franks, Bobby Franks, Stephen Bradley Franks, and Ronald Wayne Franks.
Standing as honor guard will be Stanley Frugia, Jr., Stephen Douglas Franks, and Chassity Braswell.
