Sharron Jo Peters Hagerud, 75, passed away on Wednesday evening, March 30, 2016, in Dallas. She was born on Oct. 26, 1940, in North Platte, Nebraska to the late Francis Carlton and Linda Margaret McMurtry Peters. Sharron graduated from St. Pat's High School in North Platte. She worked as an office manager at Academy of Homes in Marshall and also at Squibb Taylor in Dallas for many years. Sharron spent most of her years in the East Texas and Dallas area and was of the Catholic faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bruce Edward Powell; father of her children, Thad E. Powell; one sister; and two brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Priscilla Bean-Suri of Dallas; son, Jeffrey Craig Powell of Gun Barrel City; two sisters, Linda Labuda of Montgomery and Elizabeth Collamer of North Platte, NE; one brother, Robert Peters of San Diego, CA; one grandson, Tyler Bean and wife Andrea, great-grandson, Caleb Bean of Little Elm; and one granddaughter, Lacy Transeau and husband Brian Transeau of Boyds, MD.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel, 1131 SH 149, Carthage, TX with Tommy Bean officiating. Interment will follow in Deadwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Mike Johannes, David Smith, Jimmy Chamberlain, Billy Alford, Arlend Carter, and Mike Claxton.
