Obituary

Sharlet McCallum, 68, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Saturday morning, March 30, 2024, at her home in Carthage. Sharlet Ann Williams was born on Nov. 30, 1955, in Carthage to the late Bobby Joe and Anna Jane Williams. She graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1974. Sharlet grew up working in her family's business in Carthage, Joe's Café. She married Steve Wayne Rhiddlehoover and he preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 1995, and later married Art McCallum. Sharlet attended Panola College where she earned her cosmetology license, working as a beauty operator until her retirement. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sharlet lived her lifetime in Carthage and was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.

Sharlet is survived by her devoted husband, Art McCallum; daughters, Jessica Alexander and husband Luke, Chelcy Endsley, step-daughter, Jennifer Shamblin and husband John; grandchildren, Carter, Laney, Camden, Cooper, and Jase; and brothers, Greg Williams and wife Judy, Terry Williams, and Brad Williams and wife Jill. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Martha Williams and grandson, Gavin Simmons.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Freddy Mason officiating. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery with Bro. John Pages officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and nurses of Heart's Way Hospice especially Alysha and Cookie and special caregiver, Sandra Adams.

Pallbearers are Carter Burnett, Camden Shows, Cooper Shows, Jase Alexander, Brandon Williams, Clayton Williams, Chase Williams, Joseph Williams, Joshua Carter, Justin Goolsby, and Jake White.
