Shannon Jolene Yule, 65, of Carthage, TX formerly of Jena, LA, departed this life on Tuesday morning, Sept. 15, 2015, in Carthage. She was born on Jan. 23, 1950, in Jena to the late Joe David "Dave" and Agnes Lucille Paul Yule. She grew up in Central Louisiana before moving to East Texas. Over the years, she was a homemaker, secretary, and a long-haul truck driver. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her oldest brother, Willie Yule.
Shannon is survived by three sons, James Ray Crooks and wife Rebecca, John David Crooks and Jenny Adams, and Jeffery Dale Crooks and wife Cindy; daughter, Keri Lea Crooks; former daughter-in-law, Tammie Darlene Crooks all of East Texas; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; four brothers, David Yule and Thomas Yule of East Texas and Mark Yule and Sam Yule of Central Louisiana; and three sisters, Sandra Peavy and Suzanne Carroll of East Texas and Mollie Wood of Oklahoma. Many other friends and cousins also survive Shannon.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, at Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home in Jena with Bro. Gary Norris and Harvey Blasingame officiating. Interment will follow in Nebo Cemetery in Nebo, LA. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 5-9 p.m. on Thursday at Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Briar Crooks, Kyle Crooks, Bowdrie Crooks, Kolten Crooks, Slate Crooks, Dean Adams, Dave Carroll, and David Carroll.
